BOSCH Security
Kay Kimball President,
The Security Oracle, Inc.
Dear Ms. Kimball,
I am excited that Bosch Security Systems is partnering with The Security Oracle (TSO) to stay ahead of changing customer expectations and digital disruption for the NERC CIP-014 Physical Security of Electric Infrastructure, Smart/Safe City, and Retail/Public Venue Protection initiatives.
Electric Infrastructure Security
I am pleased that during the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) audit of TECO Energy, Inc. on October 2-3, 2017, the auditors acknowledged that TECO, with their deployments of RCADS® at their two NERC CIP 014 sites, had met the spirit and intent of the NERC CIP-014 Physical Security Standard requirements for Transmission Substations. The further consensus of the four auditors was that the deployment of RCADS®, an integrated security appliance featuring Bosch ruggedized high resolution cameras is a new best practice.
Smart/Safe Cities
On October 10, 2017, the Senior Law Enforcement Training Office and Columbus Police Department were impressed by TSO’s demonstration of its scalable exterior and interior gunshot detection system GDS.ai™ which can pinpoint location(s) within a defined radius, number of shots fired, bullet trajectories and calibers of weapons used in single or multiple simultaneous gunshot incidents. It will also discriminate between false reports and real gunshot incidents to provide real-time, actionable intelligence for law enforcement to respond accordingly. Bosch is pleased with our partnership on both the Columbus, OH and Pittsburgh, PA Smart/Safe City initiatives.
Retail/Public Venue Protection
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials reported to Congress that an increase in human trafficking activity could have ramifications for supply chain security. Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) reports that traffickers look for large retail parking areas that are not well lit and do not have visible security surveillance as prime locations for transnational criminal networks to drop off victims. In November, during TSO and Bosch’s presentation to one of the largest global retailers, it became evident that TSO’s disruptive robotic non-lethal solution, Remotely Controlled Active Defense and Denial System (RCADS®) and Robots in the Sky®, integrated with Bosch’s moving cameras that include starlight technology for low light conditions and infrared illumination for complete darkness, can instantly zoom in on the precise location of detected criminal activity and alert retail store management of abnormal activities on their premises. This solution can help to create a safer environment for retail customers and employees.
As the Director of Vertical Market Applications at Bosch, I work with many global system providers and integrators. I find that TSO distinguishes itself as a proven security leader with valuable knowledge in both physical security and cyber security design. We at Bosch look forward to working with TSO to make the world a safer place for all with a leading-edge artificial intelligence driven security appliance.
Yours sincerely,
Dan Reese
