Dear Charles,

On November 30, 2017, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke testified before the House Committee on Homeland Security for a hearing on World Wide Threats: Keeping America Secure in the New Age of Terror. Duke said that DHS is addressing the evolving threat landscape and moving past traditional defense and non-defense thinking. She went on to say that DHS is enhancing its approach to homeland security and bringing together intelligence operations, interagency engagement, and international action in innovative ways.

The Security Oracle’s disruptive robotic solution, Remotely Controlled Active Defense and Denial System (RCADS®) and Robots in the Sky® which integrates LRAD’s Long Range Acoustic Device can actively defend borders, airports, seaports, power plants, water dams, and other critical infrastructure with virtual walls -- intense non-lethal sound waves and high intensity strobe lights. I believe TSO’s artificial intelligence solution is the “innovative way” to save lives and protect critical infrastructures.

TSO’s RCADS® can also help prevent and respond to active shooter scenarios such as the one that took place in at the Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas this past October. TSO’s Robots in the Sky® would disrupt and neutralize the shooter(s) while enabling first responders to act in the shortest time frame and assist potential victims to escape. RCADS® would enable Critical Response Command to dynamically reconfigure access control and emergency communications systems to adapt to new security threats within seconds and TSO’s intelligent coordinator automatically can cue LRAD’s Omnidirectional LRAD ONE VOICE system to provide mass notification and public address instructions to direct crowds towards evacuation paths or shelters.

TSO’s RCADS® technology is a truly innovative solution that will change the nature of critical infrastructure protection and other wicked problems. This technology will help law enforcement and security agencies better protect soft targets from terrorists and criminals around the world. TSO and LRAD share a common vision and set of values including a responsibility to our communities, an appreciation for technical innovation and a desire to equip and empower our law enforcement agencies to protect our communities and save lives. In light of that, I strongly support TSO’s selection as the winner in the General Excellence category of Fast Company’s 2017 World Changing Ideas awards.

Sincerely,

David Schnell
